The Polished Hare was founded by Michael Koutsostamatis and Anna Marie Giuffre. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, and that training shapes how the company approaches aircraft care: understand the surface first, then choose the product and method.
Together, Michael and Anna Marie bring 11+ years of combined aviation experience. Based in the greater Chicago area, the team provides mobile interior and exterior detailing at seven airports, from DuPage and Aurora in the west to Waukegan in the north and Gary to the southeast.
Typical work includes routine presentation care, overnight turnarounds, pre-sale and ownership presentation, charter-schedule resets and recurring fleet care — always within an agreed scope and schedule.
Leather, brightwork, transparencies, painted and composite surfaces all behave differently. We identify sensitive areas and protect or exclude them from detailing according to the aircraft, operator and work-scope requirements.

How We Work on Your Aircraft
An engineering background means starting with the materials, not the product label. Our role is cosmetic detailing and surface care; maintenance, inspection and airworthiness decisions remain with the operator and its maintenance provider.

The work scope, access window and any areas to exclude are confirmed before we start.

We document the aircraft's cosmetic condition before work begins so there is a clear starting record.

Product & Method Selection
Aircraft surfaces vary by material, coating and configuration. Cleaning products and techniques are selected according to the surface being treated, the aircraft's condition and the agreed work scope.

Access & Work-Area Coordination
Work is coordinated around current airport, FBO, hangar and operator requirements at the service location.

Post-Service Documentation
Completed work is photographed and summarized so you have a record of what was done.
Rinseless and low-water procedures are selected to minimize runoff and are adapted to airport, FBO, hangar and environmental requirements at the work location.
Privacy by Default
We do not publicly publish aircraft registration numbers or identifying client information without permission. Job documentation is handled with the discretion expected in private and business aviation.
