Why Disinsection Matters
Regulatory Requirement — Not Optional
Countries including Australia, New Zealand, India, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, and parts of the South Pacific mandate aircraft disinsection before entry. Without a valid Certificate of Residual Disinsection, your aircraft can be denied landing clearance, quarantined, or forced to undergo on-arrival treatment at your expense.

O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) are major departure points for international private charters. Yet very few detailing companies in the Midwest are equipped — or willing — to perform certified residual disinsection with proper documentation. The Polished Hare fills this gap directly on the ramp.
Paper Documentation Still Matters
Several international authorities — particularly in the EU, Pacific Islands, and Caribbean — reject digital or photocopied disinsection certificates. We provide a physically signed and company-stamped Certificate of Residual Disinsection and Affidavit that meets ICAO Annex 9 requirements.
Our Disinsection Process
Pre-Treatment Cabin Assessment
We inspect the cabin, noting carpet type, upholstery materials, and ventilation system configuration. Any sensitive surfaces or electronics are masked or protected before application begins.
Permethrin Application
We apply Permectrin II (permethrin-based insecticide) to all cabin carpet surfaces per WHO and ICAO residual disinsection guidelines. Application is even, measured, and confined to the areas required by the regulation — no overspray on leather, wood veneer, or avionics.
Drying & Ventilation
The treated cabin is ventilated per the product's safety data sheet. Drying time is typically 15–30 minutes depending on cabin volume and ambient temperature. The residual treatment remains effective for the duration specified by the destination country's requirements.
Certificate & Affidavit Issuance
We issue a Certificate of Residual Disinsection with physical signature and company stamp, plus a supporting Affidavit. These documents travel with the aircraft and are presented to customs/quarantine authorities on arrival. We retain copies for your records.
